The World of Westloft Philosophy

Decorative Intelligence

The ability to shape a room with taste, atmosphere and emotional clarity.

The definition

What is Decorative Intelligence?

Decorative intelligence is the instinct for knowing what a room needs: scale, contrast, texture, restraint, wit and the occasional glorious objection to good sense.

The Westloft perspective

In the World of Westloft

For Westloft, decorative intelligence is not about rules for their own sake. It is the cultivated eye that knows when to add the large framed print, when to leave the wall bare and when a brass object is doing more work than anyone expected.
