A touch of gold used sparingly for warmth, age and emphasis.

The definition

What is Gilded Accent?

A gilded accent is a small decorative use of gold or gold-toned finish in a room.

The Westloft perspective

In the World of Westloft

For Westloft, gilding should behave like seasoning. Enough to enrich the room, not so much that the room starts auditioning for a minor palace.
